Leaders from across the county unveiled a plan Monday to deal with the widespread drainage problem that has been plaguing parts of Rockland for years. Kevin Emsworth, of Pearl River, recounts when his house and street were flooded exactly one year ago, but that could soon change thanks to plans announced by county and town officials. They're calling for a countywide study to identify flooding areas and address draining issues. Orangetown officials recently built a basin in Pearl River to prevent flood run off. It's these types of projects that town officials say they hope to see more of.
