An Orange County man has been sentenced to 25 years to life in a fatal arson fire on Tuesday.
Ryan Veloce, 32, of Montgomery was convicted of second-degree murder and first-degree arson.
The fire occurred at single-family home in Montgomery last summer. A 46- year-old resident died of smoke inhalation.
Authorities say Veloce set the fire using kerosene because he believed the victim had stolen cocaine from him the night before.
The judge noted the victim had saved Veloce's life the night before by administering Narcan to reverse the effects of a drug overdose.
*Editor's Note: A previous version of this story erroneously stated Veloce pleaded guilty in the case. He was convicted of the charges in July.
