Even though she's eager to find a permanent home and a family of her own while waiting at the Associated Humane Societies-Newark shelter, Chrissy is a happy, friendly and playful girl.

Volunteers at the shelter say she loves the summer months when she can cool off in a pool. In the cooler months, Chrissy is eager to go for walks and play outdoors or indoors. The shelter describes her as "affectionate, athletic, curious, friendly, funny, loyal, smart, silly, sweet and loves people."

A pit bull/terrier mix, Chrissy is fully vaccinated and spayed. Volunteers believe she's about 4 years old.

According to Associated Humane Societies, Chrissy does well around certain dogs. The organization says families are welcome to bring their pets to the shelter for a meet-and-greet. All families or potential adopters are required to meet with the pets prior to their applications being approved.
