Today marks Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day, a solemn occasion that reverberates through history as a pivotal moment.
The attack by Japan on the U.S. Naval fleet in Hawaii claimed the lives of more than 2,400 individuals, including numerous civilians, and forever altered the global landscape.
To pay tribute to this significant day, Eastchester plans to hold a ceremony at 7:55 a.m. at the Town Hall, honoring the lives lost and the bravery displayed in the face of tragedy.
Additionally, Cortlandt Town Hall will also remember this day with a ceremony at 3:30 p.m., joining the nation in reflecting on the impact and legacy of the events that unfolded on this historic day.
