Peekskill council takes step toward improving street safety after fatal hit-and-run

The Common Council voted unanimously Monday night to authorize the Planning Department to move forward with an application for a $10.8 million federal Safe Streets and Roads for All grant.

The city of Peekskill is taking a step toward making its streets safer after a deadly hit-and-run. 
The Common Council voted unanimously Monday night to authorize the Planning Department to move forward with an application for a $10.8 million federal Safe Streets and Roads for All grant.
The program funds initiatives to prevent roadway deaths and serious injuries.
The city has until July 10 to submit an application.
