Person fatally struck by train at Port Chester station
One person is dead after being struck by a train at the Port Chester train station.
The accident occurred around 5:40 p.m. Wednesday when a westbound New Haven Line train heading to Grand Central hit the individual on the tracks.
The victim has not yet been identified, and it remains unclear why they were on the tracks.
Customers along the New Haven Line experienced delays of up to one hour, with some trains being canceled. Normal service resumed around 9:30 p.m., but the MTA advises customers to check the MTA Train Time app or their website for the latest schedules.
The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
