For parents of children with autism, there are a number of places across the city that offer support, and the Bronx House is just one of them. 

Veronica Sterling's 8-year-old son Noah has been swimming there since last September. She says that his success in the pool is helping him communicate, understand, listen and take direction when out of the water. 

Bronx House Aquatic Director Florencio Palomo says water is a great equalizer for kids on the autism spectrum because it's a sensory stimulation for their whole bodies. A number of families agree that the one-on-one swimming lessons have changed their lives. 

Sterling says she's grateful that Noah has finally found something he's passionate about, and that puts a smile on his face, even when he steps out of the pool.
