Pleasantville officials take on issue of pot sales in village

Pleasantville officials took on the issue of marijuana sales in the village on Monday night.
Most residents are asking leaders to opt out.
By opting in, it would allow pot consumption sites to develop in the area, including at smoking lounges, cannabis cafes and other businesses.
Municipalities can decide to permit sales at any time.
Once a municipality opts in, it can't go back on its decision.
The Pleasantville mayor says the board is likely to announce a decision in November and plans to vote in December.
News 12 was told it's likely the village will opt out, but it currently plans to host more community work sessions.
