A 2-year-old who was struck by a vehicle in the north parking lot of Belmont Lake State Park on Sunday has died.

According to police, the operator of the vehicle in the incident immediately contacted 911 and remained on the scene to cooperate with investigators.

Following a thorough investigation, police determined that no criminality was involved in the incident.

Police say out of respect for the family, and due to the sensitive nature of the incident, as well as the age of the victim, no further details will be released at this time.
