Three people were shot in Newburgh early Friday, police say.
News 12 was told the gunman was standing on Mill Street when he opened fire multiple times, striking three men point blank.
City of Newburgh police say the shooter and victims were coming out of the El Tropical bar before dawn Friday when words were exchanged and shots were fired from a handgun.
Authorities say two of the victims are in critical condition with multiple gunshot wounds, while a third victim was treated at the hospital and released.
It marks the third incident involving gunfire in the Orange County inner-city in the past three weeks.
Police say the incidents all happened within blocks from each other, including one near William Street last week, where two other people were injured during a high-speed drive-by.
Investigators say Friday’s shooting does not appear to be related, and no arrests have been made in any of the cases.
Police say after this latest call, gun violence is up 100% since last month.
