The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office says six people have been charged after selling alcohol to minors.
They say officers did a series of compliance checks over a three-week period in each town and village in the county. Someone underage tried to buy from several stores without showing proof of age. When the sale happened, police sent an arrest summons to the employee who sold the alcohol.
The six charged were issued appearance tickets.
The stores include Highland Wine and Liquor, Brewster Gulf, La Marqueta Market, Bella Vino Spirits, Patterson Wines and Spirits and Patterson Autobody Convenience Store.
