Police departments across the Hudson Valley will be marking National Night Out this week.
It's a way to improve relationships between police departments and the communities they serve.
Mount Vernon's night out started at 5:30 p.m. at Hartley Park. Kensico Dam Park started at 4:30 p.m.
The Village of Brewster event will take place Tuesday at Wells Park from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The Village of Mamaroneck Police Department event is also Tuesday at Harbor Island Park from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
