A police K-9 and a drone helped find a domestic violence suspect in Nanuet this month.
Clarkstown police say the incident unfolded at an undisclosed residence on Jan. 11 at 9:30 p.m., after a call for an altercation between two men on the street.
They say when they arrived, they discovered the men were father and son, and that the father had allegedly been punched several times by his son with a closed fist. Authorities say the father tried leaving the home, but his son prevented him from doing so. The victim was eventually able to escape from a rear door of the residence, according to police.
Authorities say his son, a 33-year-old whose name has not been released, then fled the scene. K-9 Shadow was called in, along with the department’s drone unit.
Police say the suspect was located and charged with criminal mischief, assault and unlawful imprisonment. He was arraigned and remanded to Rockland County Jail, according to the department.
Online records used to search for individuals incarcerated at the jail, however, do not show any bookings that match the description of the charges on that date.
