Police: Man left with ‘significant’ hand injury in Yonkers fireworks blast

The man was transported to a hospital where he is in stable condition.

A man suffered a "significant" hand injury caused by the detonation of a firework that he was holding, Yonkers police say.

According to Yonkers Police Department, reports came in just before 9 a.m. Saturday near 70 Linden St.

Upon arrival, the victim was on scene with what police say was a "significant injury to his hand caused by the detonation of a firework while he was still holding it. He also suffered facial injuries from the blast."

He was transported to a hospital where he is in stable condition.
