Police arrested three suspects in a Spring Valley home invasion that left one person hospitalized with severe injuries Friday.
Investigators say the invasion happened at 38 South Madison Ave. at around 4:30 a.m. The victim, 35-year-old Michael Lanier, says three suspects broke down the front door to his second-floor apartment and beat him with a hammer and a baseball bat.
A neighbor who heard a noise coming from the upstairs apartment called 911.
?I was too busy fighting off the dudes, and I was in tremendous pain,? Lanier says.
Lanier was rushed to Good Samaritan Hospital for serious, but not life-threatening injuries, which included two broken knuckles, a fractured knee and cuts to his hand.
Police say just last week the man?s apartment was burglarized and his PlayStation was stolen. The man, however, did not report the crime. Lanier says he knows the people who attacked him and was friendly with them at one point.
The suspects, 30-year-old John Epps, 17-year-old Josue St. John and 18-year-old Carl Mangones, were arrested shortly after the incident. The hammer and bat that were used in the attack were also recovered.
The trio is currently detained at the Rockland County Jail.
