Clarkstown police have posted video of a reckless driver zooming past a school bus with its stop sign flashing in Rockland County.
The short clip was posted on the department’s Facebook page Tuesday morning. They say it was taken on North Middletown Road in Nanuet and sent in by a concerned parent who was waiting at a bus stop for her 6-year-old daughter when it happened.
The parent, Debbie Byron, said it's not the first time this has happened and sent videos of cars going past the bus stop sign on Sept. 17. She also sent a picture of an accident that happened when one car stopped for the bus, but the rest did not.
She says she contacted police about the incidents.
They're now reminding drivers to stop in both directions when a school bus flashes its red lights.
Fines for illegally passing a school bus range from $250 to $1,000, along with point on your license.
