Ramapo police are looking to identify one or more school bus drivers involved in several dangerous driving incidents captured on video in Monsey last week.
One surveillance video shows a school bus passing a truck while driving on the wrong side of Route 306. The same bus is seen on dashcam video from a different angle as the bus almost hits another school bus head-on.
The incidents happened last Tuesday and Thursday, according to their timestamps, and police confirm they occurred on Monsey roads.
Two of the videos show buses passing vehicles idling at an intersection.
Just this month, a 15-year-old was hit by a vehicle in Spring Valley. Before that, four children were hit by school buses in three Ramapo communities since January.
A 5-year-old and an 8-year-old died in two of the accidents.
News 12 reached out to the East Ramapo Central School District, which is responsible for school buses in the communities. The district said to contact police.
Ramapo police say they’re working to identify the driver or drivers involved but aren’t saying anything else.
So far, it’s not known if the drivers in the other incidents were ticketed or charged with any wrongdoing.
Town of Ramapo Supervisor Michael Specht tells News 12 he’s working with police after first seeing videos last week.
