The victim of a stabbing in Neptune City on March 4 has died.
The Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office and Neptune City Police Department say 24-year-old Kaylib Paul, from Neptune Township, was found with stab wounds in the 200 block of West Sylvania Avenue.
Authorities are now seeking the help of the public to find a suspect or suspects. They asking any individuals with information related to the homicide to come forward.
"This young man was days away from his 25th birthday. I'm sure this is a difficult time for his family, and we're very sympathetic towards what they're going through," said Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond Santiago. "We just want to make sure we can find whoever is responsible and bring them to justice."
A neighbor who didn't want to speak publicly said there's been a lot of foot and car traffic surrounding the home near where the 24-year-old's body was found.
"If they witnessed anything; if they heard anything; particularly we're looking for anyone who may have seen a commotion, heard loud voices, seen any vehicles leaving at a high rate of speed," said Santiago. "Any information that they can provide is useful."
Investigators at this time are not sharing information about how or why the altercation occurred. They could be seen early Wednesday morning, gathering evidence from the scene as several evidence markers and blood dotted the sidewalk on West Sylvania Avenue.
Anyone with information regarding the stabbing can contact Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Detective Stephen Cavendish at 800-533-7443 or Neptune City Detective Sgt. Thomas Holmstedt at 732-775-1615.
