Police: Trumbull man arrested for fatal car crash

Jacob Ryan Kapteina has been charged with reckless driving and unsafe passing, among other charges.

Trumbull police say a 22-year-old man has turned himself in after his passenger was killed in a car accident.
Jacob Ryan Kapteina has been charged with reckless driving and unsafe passing, among other charges.
Police said the crash happened on Oct. 15 on White Plains Road when Kapteina swerved around a stopped car and struck a vehicle. He was traveling north in a southbound lane. His passenger, Anthony James Moran, 33, of Bridgeport, was killed.
Kapteina was released after posting a $50,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court on Jan. 19.
