The Poughkeepsie Police Department is aiming to spread holiday cheer by organizing a dessert drive to benefit families in need this Thanksgiving.

Held today from noon to 8 p.m. at the Public Safety Building, the department encourages donations of pies, cakes, cookies, and any other sweet treats.

All community members are welcome to contribute, and the department pledges to distribute the collected desserts to various families across the city tomorrow.
