Dana Reeve, the wife of the late ?Superman? actor Christopher Reeve, died late Monday of lung cancer.

Reeve and her late husband lived with their 13-year-old son in Pound Ridge. Reeve fought for better treatments and possible cures for paralysis after her husband was paralyzed in a horseback riding accident. She helped start the Christopher Reeve Foundation. Recently, Reeve was involved with the Visiting Nurse Association of Hudson Valley.

Reeve revealed she had lung cancer in August. She was 44.
