The powerful thunderstorms that moved through the Hudson Valley last night knocked down trees and cut power to hundreds of people.
A very powerful cell that dropped golf-sized hail was responsible for the damage, which proved to be a major obstacle for public works crews.
Marina Liapuvno, of Ossining, says she ran for cover when the storms began and couldn't believe what she was seeing.
"I never saw such large hail in my whole life and I am pretty old by now. It was scary," Liapuvno says.
