A former priest from St. Gregory's Church has been charged with stealing thousands of dollars from the parish, and church officials say Father Thomas Kreiser was using the money for online gambling.
Kreiser is accused of stealing $25,000 by racking up charges on the church's credit card. Father Joseph Lamorte, St. Gregory's new priest, says he and the parish are praying for Kreiser's rehabilitation, and for the parish to move forward with a new beginning.
Kreiser was released on bail, and he is now reportedly in rehab, being treated for a gambling addiction.
