A new program will offer an extra incentive to students in the Bronx and the rest of the city that excel on Advanced Placement tests.Low-income and minority students at 31 schools across the city will be eligible under the Pay For Performance program. The program was launched Monday by the Council of Urban Professionals and the Pershing Square Foundation. Anyone who scores a 5 on an AP test, the top grade, would be eligible for $1,000. A 4 on an AP test would be worth $750 and a 3 would make a student eligible for $500. Backers of the program say the goal is to get minority students in low-income neighborhoods ready for college.List of Bronx schools taking part:Academy of Mt.
