Two people have been charged in connection with a fatal shooting at Long Branch’s Pier Village earlier this month, according to the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office.
Authorities say that 18-year-old Dwayne Exilus and a juvenile are accused in the death of 18-year-old Chrystofer Whyte, of North Brunswick, on June 12.
The prosecutor says that the juvenile defendant, who was not identified due to his age, was served with “juvenile complaints” that include murder, hindering and various weapons complaints.
Exilus faces multiple charges, including unlawful possession of a weapon and hindering.
Officials say Whyte was found with a single gunshot wound. They say he was shot in the beach area between the shoreline and the Pier Village boardwalk.
