Prosecutor: Truck driver accused of stealing $27,000 of Red Bull drinks

A truck driver from New Jersey has been accused of stealing more than $27,000 worth of Red Bull energy drinks.
The Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office says that Christopher Hammond, 36, was charged with third-degree theft by unlawful taking, fourth-degree forgery and fourth-degree false uttering.
Authorities say that Hammond stole the drinks from a Wall Township-based beverage distribution center in June and July of 2021.
“As part of his work duties, Hammond was supposed to have delivered the energy drinks to local businesses for sale, but neither of two large shipments he picked up ever made it to their intended destinations,” the prosecutor said.
Hammond is also accused of forging two bogus invoices for the Red Bulls “in an attempt to cover his tracks.”
Officials say that they do not know where the stolen energy drinks ended up.
Hammond could face up to five years in prison if he is convicted on the charges.
