3ds agoPutnam County has adopted its 2024 budget, which includes the county's lowest property tax rate in 15 years.
The county says it's the first budget in 25 years with an overall tax budget reduction, financed with no new borrowing.
The property tax rate will now be 2.85%.
Sales tax will also be cut over two years.
The budget includes expanded mental health services and investment in infrastructure.
