Authorities say a suspect has called residents, falsely identified himself as a pastor from a church in Carmel and asked to be sent gift cards via cellphone.

The Putnam County Sheriff's Office is warning the community about a recent string of cellphone scam incidents.
Authorities say a suspect has called residents, falsely identified himself as a pastor from a church in Carmel and asked to be sent gift cards via cellphone.
Police urge anyone who receives a similar phone call to hang up and contact authorities at 845-225-4300.
