A challenger in the Ramapo town supervisor Republican primary refused to concede his defeat Tuesday night, calling for a recount of votes.
Despite losing to incumbent Town Supervisor Chris St. Lawrence by more than 400 votes, Robert Romanowski is asking the board of elections to recheck every ballot.
St. Lawrence, who was crossed-endorsed by both the Republican and Democratic parties, celebrated two victories Tuesday night.
Democratic candidate Bruce Levine lost his primary to St. Lawrence, but he is expected to face the incumbent in November on the Preserve Ramapo party line.
