The man who shot the police chokehold video of a Staten Island dad is in the hospital after being arrested over the weekend.
According to police, 22-year-old Ramsey Orta is undergoing psychiatric evaluation at the Richmond University Medical Center following an arrest for criminal possession of a weapon Saturday night.
Orta gained attention for taking cellphone video of an officer using a chokehold to retrain Eric Garner on July 17.
Garner died shortly after the incident, and the city's medical examiner has ruled the death a homicide.
