The American Red Cross is assisting people affected by a fire at a Bronxville apartment building.
A Red Cross spokesperson says eight households were affected, including 16 adults and three children. The spokesperson said that additional residents have been able to self-relocate.
The fire broke out Sunday night around 10 p.m. at the Rivermere complex.
Fire officials say there was heavy smoke and fire coming from a third-floor apartment in the north building when they arrived.
Officials say one person died, but no additional information has been released on that person.
The cause of the fire has yet to be determined, but fire officials say it does not appear to be suspicious.
