Convicted sex offender and murder suspect Michael Mele is expected to be released from prison on Christmas Eve after serving time for a parole violation.
Mele, who is a resident of Wallkill, is a suspect in the 2008 murder of Laura Garza, of Brooklyn, at a Manhattan nightclub.
Authorities say Mele was the last person seen with Garza. Her body was eventually found near Scranton, Pa. in April.
