Commercial construction projects in the town of Newburgh have been in the works for years and there's more construction on the horizon. Over the last few years, the area has been undergoing some major expansions, with retail giants setting up shop in the area. Now, town officials are in talks to construct a new mall, called The Marketplace, right across the street from the Newburgh Mall. Many business owners in the area say the new proposal will positively affect their bottom line. They say an increase in shoppers will mean better business. Not everyone, however, is happy about the increase in business. Homeowners living in the residential neighborhood behind the malls say the traffic congestion will be a burden.
