Residents in Orangetown are concerned over New Jersey?s plans to build a detention center less than a mile from the Rockland border.
The site would be located at the intersection of Link Drive and Piermont Road in Rockleigh, New Jersey. Bergen County is eyeing the land to build a 64 unit juvenile detention facility. Many residents say they are concerned for the safety of their community.
A public meeting to discuss the issue is set for Tuesday night in the Bergen Plaza in Hackensack. Residents from Rockleigh as well as Rockland are planning to attend.
