People in one Westchester community say they do not feel safe and want the village to take action.

About a dozen residents spoke at a recent board of trustees meeting in Mt. Kisco.

They raised concerns about what they call quality-of-life issues.

Speakers pointed out public drinking, disorderly behavior and people sleeping in public spaces.

Data from the Westchester County Department of Public Safety shows 58 summons have been issues this year already, with trespasses tripling from last year.

Mayor J. Michael Cindrich acknowledges the concerns raised saying: "I'm not making any excuses the police could be doing more."

News 12 reached out to the police for comment but have not heard back.

Village officials say all concerns brought up in the meeting will be presented to the police department and the district attorney’s office.
