72-year old Steven Shapiro has been undergoing a never-ending list of medical tests and hospital visits in order to qualify for inclusion on the National Kidney Donation List.
We first interviewed Shapiro and his wife Susan Amkraut in
April.
Since then, the couple says, calls of support and offers to help, have been pouring in.
The tests he says, are taking a toll on his body, but have not slowed his determination.
"Truthfully, I was exhausted, but I keep in front of my mind...I get really emotional. This is what I need to get into the program. The requirements that I need to do to qualify for the program."
Shapiro who was first diagnosed in 2018, says his kidney disease is a result of his using the medication Lithium, prescribed by his doctor.
