The Riverhead Town supervisor held a press conference on Monday with Long Island Science Center representatives to discuss the future development plans of the Main Street site. Originally, Riverhead Town officials planned to use eminent domain power to acquire the East Main Street building owned by the Long Island Science Center and to buy out the lease of the downtown bar Craft’d to build a new town square. After a follow-up, the Long Island Science Center came up with a two-phase plan to convince the town not to take over its property.
