Snow and ice from this week's blizzard made it difficult for firefighters to get to the scene of a New City fire yesterday. Fire officials say it took about 30 minutes to get to the home on West Clarkstown Road because of the road conditions. According to officials, the fire started at around 1 p.m. when contractors renovating the home accidentally ripped up the gas line. No one was living in the home at the time and no injuries were reported.
