Volunteers and veterans came together at Pete’s Saloon in Elmsford Sunday for a Disabled American Veterans fundraiser.
The upbeat event combined live rock music, raffles, and food — all to support the mission of helping veterans access transportation, counseling, and crucial benefits not always covered by the Veterans Affairs.
Richard Castellano, a veteran himself, said the day was about “veterans helping veterans” — a reminder that the work doesn’t stop once the uniform comes off.
Elvis tribute artist Patrick Perone joined the celebration, using music to lift spirits and raise awareness about the challenges veterans face after service.
For Pete’s Saloon, a Westchester County institution for decades, the day proved that community and compassion can make a difference — one song, one salute, and one veteran at a time.
