Days ahead of the primary election, Rockland County Executive Ed Day is talking about the potential for voter fraud.

Day is calling into question a number of registrations, but his opponent, Tom Sullivan, says the incumbent is just playing politics.

"We may never know exactly who is casting that ballot or amazingly whether that person even exists," says Day.

Day says he is questioning more than 500 voter registrations for the Conservative Party that he claims are from a small area of Ramapo.

"We have 12 people registered to one location. That's what really got the attention of everybody," he says.

News 12 probed the location on South Central Avenue in Spring Valley and found out that it was an all-boys private school with dorms, making it possible that 12 people could legally register at that address.

The county executive claims most of the new registration forms didn't include two things: Voter identification or previous voter history.

The Rockland County Board of Elections is adamant that there is no evidence of voter fraud.

They say no one can physically vote until they show some sort of identification. If they fail to include it, they will be asked to show it at the polling place.

Sullivan says Day is trying to disenfranchise a specific group of voters who are simply trying to exercise their basic right to vote.

Day says he still believes something is not right and is now calling on the sheriff and district attorney for a full investigation.

The primary election is next Tuesday.
