The Rockland County Sheriff?s Department is looking for a few good men and women to join its ranks as corrections officers.
The department was at the Palisades Center Mall this week handing out applications to anyone interested.
Authorities say a large number of officers will be retiring over the next few years, so they are looking to hire 10-15 new officers a year.
Sgt. Deidre Russell, a 10-year veteran, says that the job is more about thinking on your feet and less about muscle.
The department says that the starting salary is $45,000 and goes up to $70,000 after four years.
Applications will be accepted until Sept. 8.
