After serving the county for 47 years, a Rockland detective received a very special send-off.
An emotional retirement ceremony was held for Detective Lt. James Stewart Thursday.

Stewart went to Fordham University at only 16 years old. By the time he was 20 years old, he was appointed a sheriff's deputy in Rockland County and quickly rose through the ranks.

He was one of the lead investigators for the Rockland County District Attorney's Office, working on infamous cases like the Brinks robbery.
