On your next trip down the snack aisle, keep an eye out for a face with Rockland roots.

Jean Paul Laurent's grin and his nonprofit Unspoken Smiles is among 30 to land on bags of Lay's potato chips.

Laurent immigrated to West Haverstraw and then Spring Valley from Haiti in 2004. He started the organization after helping provide free dental care to his native country in the aftermath of the deadly 2010 earthquake.

So far it has provided dental care to more than 7,000 children worldwide, as well as a dentistry fellowship for women.

"Dental care is a global issue affecting nearly 3.58 billion people across the world, and 538 million children are currently living with untreated tooth decay," says Laurent. "So I knew from the beginning this was a global issue and it would take a global team to really solve this challenge."

The Lay's campaign hopes to raise up to $1 million for Operation Smile, an international charity that provides safe surgical care to those who have cleft palates.
