Highway crews in Rockland and Orange counties don?t want to take any chances with the impending storm, so they have unleashed their latest weapon to deal with snow and ice.

Crews are dumping liquid salt on 160 miles of road prior to the storm. The liquid salt works to prevent ice from forming on the roads. The salt and sand trucks are also ready to go. Residents visited stores to stock up on much needed supplies for the snowstorm. Sales of shovels and snow blowers were brisk in hardware stores across both counties.

Some residents bought logs for the fireplace so they can just stay in and enjoy the winter?s snowfall, which many think has been long overdue.
