A number of students and faculty at Summit School in Nyack, Rockland, are undergoing precautionary measures after being exposed to rabies.
According to sources, the animal group "Four Legs Good" provided a kitten to a foster parent for care. This kitten came into contact with students and staff at Summit School, subsequently falling ill.
The kitten was evaluated by a vet and had to be euthanized. Tests later confirmed the presence of rabies.
