Amid a reported shortage of Christmas trees, the Rotary Club of Bedford and Armonk is keeping the community well stocked with its annual tree sale.
Last year, the sale couldn’t be put together due to a lack of tree sources. After searching high and low, they found a good supplier.
“These trees came all the way from Novia Scotia to us,” said Lucy Ryan, of the Rotary Club.
The club offers hundreds of balsam trees ranging from 5 feet to 10 feet tall.
Customers say they are grateful for the sale.
"We heard there's a tree shortage, so we figured we would come and get a nice tree. Last year we waited too long, and it was slim pickings,” said shopper Susan Leighton.
Though inflation has boosted the cost, many customers think it is worth it.
"It’s Christmas, got to do it, got to do it! We talk every year about getting a fake one, but you know, everyone seems to enjoy it. It smells nice and it makes the house feel special, so I don't know if we'd ever do that,” said shopper Chris Caputo.
