A roundtable discussion held in Yorktown Thursday focused on New York City crime spilling over into the Hudson Valley.
More than 40 local law enforcement leaders attended the event hosted by Rep. Mike Lawler and Assembly Member Matt Slater.
They say recently enacted laws - such as discovery reform, Raise the Age and cashless bail - place burdens on police.
"Over 40% of those released on nonmonetary bail for felony offenses have been rearrested," says Lawler.

Lawler and Slater say they are drafting legislation to address these concerns.
