Several popular beaches in Westchester are closed due to elevated bacterial contamination following heavy rainfall, according to the county health department.

Officials say more than an inch of rain fell Wednesday, prompting closures at Hudson Beach Park in New Rochelle, Harbor Island Park in Mamaroneck, and Beach Point Club in Rye.
