Friends, family and fellow NYPD officers began saying their final goodbyes to Juliana Torsiello, 25, who was killed in a single-car crash.

The first day of the wake was Thursday at the Yorktown Funeral Home in Shrub Oak.

Her brother, Michael Torsiello, spoke with News 12 ahead of the services.

"She was loved, she loved everyone, she was big into family, her selflessness, her drive, her dedication, just everything about her," he said.

The three-year NYPD officer was born in the Bronx, lived in Putnam Valley and was assigned to the 30th Precinct in West Harlem.

New York state troopers said Torsiello was driving eastbound on County Road 51 in Campbell Hall, Orange County on Friday, May 24 when she lost control along a curve in the roadway. Investigators said the car left the road and rolled over. Torsiello died at the scene.

"I want to take every great of her and put it into myself and make sure that her memory lives on in any way I can do that," Michael Torsiello said.

She leaves behind her brothers, Michael and Vinny, her sister Nicole Cardwell and her parents, Franco and Michele.

Michael said his sister followed in their grandfather's footsteps after he served as an NYPD detective. Michael described his sister as willing to take any shift and work any hour.

"She always wanted to serve and protect," he said. "It was her lifelong goal."

A vigil was held in upper Manhattan on Tuesday, May 28, to remember Torsiello's life and commitment to her community.

"She embodied what you would want in an NYPD officer," Michael said.

A GoFundMe campaign for the family has raised over $50,000.

Another wake for Torsiello's will be on Friday at the Yorktown Funeral Home in Shrub Oak from 2-8 p.m. Her funeral will be at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish in Shrub Oak at 9:30 a.m. Saturday.
