Orange County is welcoming its first arson K-9, who just weeks ago was without a home.
K-9 Walter and his handler, Investigator Justin Worden, are the first arson K-9 team to join the Orange County Sheriff's Office in Goshen.
Just a few weeks ago, Walter was in a shelter and looking for a home.
He was hand-selected by state officials after volunteers at the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society noticed the 14-month-old Shepherd-mix was special.
The two will be at the Sheriff's Office for another week. They will then go upstate for two months of training.
